1st Interim show

For the first interim show, I mainly focused on my idea of the Mental and Physical space, attempting to connect the images with the idea, such as the bottom two images of the interim show with one being the chair in the apartment and the other being the empty chair on the street, in which I was trying to focus on the link of how we have been cramped up in our own houses we have been unable to just sit out and enjoy the world.

When I comes to the inspiration behind the images and why I chose long exposures for the apartment pictures, is because I was inspired by Francesca Woodman’s work who I have spoken about in an earlier blog post and how she captured long exposures and wanted to attempt to incorporate that style in my own way and create similar feelings to Woodman.

I was okay with how this interim show came out, although I am beginning to have doubts about my idea as I feel like there is no connection there and am getting myself to caught up in many different ideas and topics and themes, after this interim show, I plan to start focusing on more cinematic shots and begin some research into the links between cinema and still photography.
