Profile
My name is David Bloor, I have studied at the University of Huddersfield, finishing with a grade of 2:1 with my BA in Photography
I love bringing life to creative ideas and projects. I enjoy being behind the camera and capturing the world around me. Since a young age I’ve always been interested in Photography and have always had a camera at hand.
My favourite photographer has always been Francesca Woodman, due to the way she capture the images and the meanings behind them.
2015-2018
During this time I was studying photography at college, I decided it was time to create a brand for myself, hence the birth of BloorBytes, which I work very hard on through the website and different social medias to push it to the potential I know it can reach with my time and dedication.
I feel I have a strong connection with the freedom and discipline that comes with photography. I am always experimenting with different styles and I like to push myself out of the comfort zone to achieve this
University 2018-2021
Over the 3 years I spent at University, I developed more of an understanding and passion for the theoretical part of photography, exploring the ethics and understandings of social media. I also spent a lot of time working in group projects such as my 2nd year show “Home”, unfortunately due to Covid we were unable to display an exhibition, but we found a way around using Artsteps.
Skills
With being brought up in the social media era, I have an advantage with knowing how they work, this comes in handy with gaining awareness of my work. I have been trained on how to use the Adobe Creative Suite and other I.T development skills through College, University and my own time ensuring that I understand every feature.
